Hello Everyone,
We are now entering a period of winter training, although it will be a bit lighter than usual. Due to decisions from the club office, we’re only able to hold two training sessions per week, and we’re focusing on maintaining quality in each session. We also understand that some of the boys are participating in other winter sports, which we fully respect. We see multi-sport participation as something very positive – it provides variety and strength that only benefits them in the long run.
BK Champions Cup – Summary
We opened the cup with a match against ESK, a strong and well-coordinated team. It was a tough start, which also took a lot of energy, but it gave us a good benchmark for areas we can develop.
In the second match, we faced BK 30. We started strong and were leading 2-0 at halftime, but unfortunately, we lost our passing game and became a bit naive in our positioning. BK made a strong comeback and won the game 3-2 after scoring from two corner kicks. Despite it being a close game, it highlighted the importance of staying focused and playing as a team all the way through.
The next match was against FC Europa, a team that plays a more “wild” style of football. Unfortunately, we fell into the trap of adapting to their style, lost our positions, and our play became too tight. This showed us the importance of sticking to our own game, maintaining width, and keeping structure – something we’ll focus on in training moving forward.
With a new review and reminder of the basics before our last group match against Sala FF, the boys showed impressive teamwork and finished strong. We won the game, finished third in the group, and advanced to play against Irsta, a team we know to be challenging.
With a broad attacking formation and good depth in passing, we managed to win 1-0 against Irsta. We don’t lose – we learn, and this cup provided many valuable insights. By sticking together and playing with discipline, the boys showed that they can think clearly even when they’re tired.
Focus Going Forward
It’s clear we have a strong foundation to build upon. Winter training will focus on:
Teamwork and positional discipline – to maintain structure, even under pressure.
Width and depth in attacking play – to make use of the entire field.
Mental strength – to perform well even when energy is low.
We’re truly proud of the boys’ efforts and look forward to continuing to work on everything they’ve learned. It’s impressive to see their determination and development!
To Parents – Cup Participation and Support
We understand that many of you wonder why players from the blue series are not playing in these autumn cups. It’s something we wish we could offer – that everyone had the same number of games and cup experiences. However, these cups are often at a higher level with tougher opposition, and unfortunately, we currently don’t have the resources to organize two teams under cup conditions while maintaining the quality and training we aim for. We’re doing our best to ensure all boys have opportunities to participate, and in the spring, we look forward to more cups with broader opposition, where we hope to include more players.
We would greatly appreciate it if more parents could help with tasks like fundraising for cups or acting as match parents to help with organization. This would make a big difference for us and help keep things running smoothly during tournaments. We coaches do all this in our free time, and we also have families and work commitments alongside football. We are very grateful for your understanding.
As for selecting players for cups and matches, we want to clarify that dedication and effort during training play a big part in our decision-making, not just individual skill. We highly value the players’ commitment to the team’s goals and always appreciate when parents reach out to hear how their child is doing in training.
We know the boys are getting older, and next year, league play will involve points and results. We see these autumn cups as a preparation to create the right level for the challenges ahead.
Thank you for your understanding and support. We look forward to an exciting spring season together!
This Week’s Training
This week’s training schedule will be slightly different. We will train at Wennströmska on Wednesday and Thursday from 18:30 to 20:00. Friday’s and Sunday’s trainings are unfortunately canceled due to a cup in Skinnskatteberg. Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to seeing the boys at training!
Next Weekend – System Air Cup
Next weekend, it’s time for the System Air Cup. It’s essential that everyone knows how they will get to the tournament and plans this well in advance. It will be a long weekend with matches on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and we will need rides from everyone who can help out during these days. For those participating, please avoid scheduling anything else over the weekend – the commitment of all players and parents is important for us to be able to participate in the best possible way in this tournament.
Thank you very much for your engagement and support!
Best regards,
VIK P12
