About Gustavsbergs IF HK

Welcome to Gustavsberg Handball Club (Gustavsbergs IF HK, ”GIF HK" or "Gurra").

Gustavsbergs IF HK has been present in Värmdö for more than 30 years. We have a total of 400 active handball players (boys and girls, between 6 and 19 years old, plus senior players) and dedicated and well-trained trainers and leaders.

Among our 80 volunteering, non-profit trainers and leaders, most are parents of active children, but we also have youth trainers.

We train and play matches in different sports grounds in Värmdö, most of the time in Gustavsbergs Sporthall near the centre of Gustavsberg.

Our club policy is that we play handball for fun. The goal is that as many as possible should want to play handball for as long as possible, and then later in life gladly continue as trainers, coaches, referees etc.

We work actively to create a culture of participation, inclusion and having fun together, not only within each team but as a club - the sum of the club should be more than the individual parts, the teams.

We go to joint training camps and tournaments/cups and every spring our club day "Gurrabollen" is a great manifestation of all the handball in GIF HK.

We have over time achieved competitive success and educated players who have reached both national teams and playing at an elite level. But above all, we have been able to offer everyone who likes handball an open and inclusive business where our core values are Joy, Community, Development and Modern.
