Vinterläger/Winter camp

Under jullovet håller vi träningsläger för våra U15 juniorer. Vi välkomnar även nya spelare att komma och prova på gratis. Våra erfarna coacher ser till att träningen blir kul och lärorik, och vi får även besök av våra elitspelare som delar med sig av sin kunskap. During the winter holidays we are holding a camp for our U15 team. Beginners and newcomers are also welcome to try for free. Our experienced coaches will make sure that training is fun and instructive, and the kids will have an opportunity to learn from our elite players who will deliver masterclasses. Match report vs Alby and Västerås

The bad and the good Following win versus Botkyrka CC U15s, next up was Alby U15s a completely prospect. Alby elected to bat and some early successes were blunted as the Alby middle order applied runs but once they were gone, wickets fell again and new boy Svanik took his first wicket for DIF. Extras were again high (41), and there were a number of dropped catches. In the end Tashrif and Arnav S. shared the honors as best bowlers with two wickets each. Batting started stable as usual with Rishabh and Arnav S, but a slew of wickets meant that we were in trouble early and we ended up 148 runs short of Alby. Next up was our match in Västerås, with their young side. Just like our match with Botkyrka, we retired batsmen so that everyone got a chance. Again, the top order performed well with Dhulik opening with Rishabh and put up 70 when called in. Next pair of Nethyll and Ved put on another 30 and other batters added more runs leading to a score of 161-2. Västerås were never able to keep up the same tempo and were bowled out for 56 (but 23 extras). Rohan proved to be a force with two wickets and three catches. Dhulik also had impressive figures of 1-0-1-2, almost getting a hattrick again this year against Västerås. Next match will be tough again against SCC but hopefully the break will sharpen the team. U15 vs Botkyrka

A long weekend for the U15 youngsters with another match on Sunday against Botkyrka. Ved won the toss and elected to bat. Botkyrka only had 8 players so we gave them our 12th man Vir. A first over misshap, by Arnav Singh saw him being runout, but after that it was plain sailing for our batsmen. Rishabh and Rohan both madde 20 odd before retired and replaced with Arnav Dubey and Ved. Arnav went cheaply and Nethyll joined and the two of them again scored rapidly until Vir got his brotherVed out. The match was shortened to 15 overs due to time and the last remaining batmen all tried to score quick runs in the remaining overs leaving DIF on 182 in their 15 overs. The bowling was quite tight in the begining and so after already 5 overs it was clear that DIF would win, but Dhulik who has been bowling in nets took his first wicket of the season. Ved took a further two including his brother Vir in revenge. And Arnav Dubey took more wickets than he scored runs again. Jhanik also took a wicket and a catch to finish an impressive weekend for the Abeyratne family. Botyrka ended on 81 and the first win for the DIF U15 boys for the season. Ved and Arnav are currently ranked 2 and 3 in the bowling stats. Even though it was an easy win in the end, there is still a lot of room for improvement with some tough matches in the coming weeks. U15 vs Märsta Cricket Club

U15s took a road trip to Märsta. Ved won the toss and elected bowl. This paid dividends already in the first over, as he took a neat caught and bowled. However the next two batsmen settled in and gradually started to put on some runs but at a an exhorbitant rate. Ved took the second wicket in the 13th over with the score on 81. The next two wickets fell in quick succession to Arnav Dubey including an excellent catch by stand-in keeper Jhanik. But the next partnership stayed together to the end of the innings, adding 61 runs in the last 5 overs. 144 looked like a doable score but again it would have been better to cut down on the extras. However, batting got off to horrible start with 3 wickets gone already in the first over.And by the 5th over we were already 15-6. However Arnav Singh the open was still there and started to score freely and put on a nice partnership with Jhanik for the 7th wicket. With his departure, Vir came in and also started to play some nice shots. Unfortunately Arnav got out soon after for 25. But Vir sheparded the tail and new boy Agarav got his first runs for DIF, before getting out. Next match is versus Botkyrka this Sundday. U15 vs Fortniters

First game of the season for U15, against one the SCC U15 teams took place yesterday evening. DIF won the toss and elected to bowl. While SCC boys were pegged back in the beginning by two stumpings from Rishabh off Ved's bowling, the extras started to mount even though the other bowlers still took wickets, especially Arnav Dubey who took 3 wickets, and Ved shone again with a great catch in the field. In the end, SCC made 160 in the 20 overs but the 43 extras in the end would cost the boys. They started brightly keeping up the run chase, but overs 6-9 saw the rate climb, four quick wickets did not help the cause either. But Ved and Nethyll started to accumulate runs and suddenly the rate become manageable until Ved got out bowled. Vaibav and Nethyll tried to get as many runs in the final over possible showing that ones can be turned to twos if you put pressure on the fielders. But in the end they were 18 runs short of the total. Ved was man of the match with his 3 wickets and 42 runs. U15 0kommentarer
